i've figured this one out i think, before the EP even started. that's not one coffee stain, but two. when the first stain happened, somebody was sitting in the chair. they got up and the chair moved to the second position. that's when the second stain happened, and the coffee cup tipped over and left those two parallel marks that were hidden under the saucer.

now, without any evidence we've got only two suspects. because just like every other Conan episode everybody's already been introduced in the show. this one has two parts, so there could be a third 'surprise suspect' but i doubt it. so far we've met the young guy, his ersatz GF/secretary, the FUB, and Kogoro et. al. we know Conan's group didn't do it so that leaves the other three. my entirely utterly and completely unsupportable guess ... except by two facts... is the person sitting in the chair was the young guy being extorted for a kickback by the FUB. the young guy came to the producer's house before the meeting with Kogoro. either to cancel the entire project or to kill the FUB with arsenic. i think the young guy came with the intent to kill the FUB.

hmmm.... my idea for re-creating the crime is this. the young guy gets the FUB riled up and makes him throw/spill his coffee. some of that 1st cup ends up on the young guy's jacket. that's the source of the 1st stain on the tablecloth and the chair's 1st position stain on the carpet. the young guy gets up and the chair is moved to its 2nd position. young guy poisons the 2nd cup of coffee, or the refill of the cup. the young guy leaves the apartment and the FUB drinks the 2nd cup/refill before cleaning up the mess. FUB gets poisoned. he spills the coffee over the table. this makes the 2nd stain on the tablecloth and the 2nd stain on the chair. it also makes the 2nd stain on the floor and leaves the two parallel marks on the tablecloth from the cup.

the only things i have to support this guess? the young guy is driving his car, but his jacket is soaked. i think the young guy stopped somewheres in the rain and tried to wash the coffee off his jacket. the other thing is the title of the episodes 'Coffee Aroma'. we haven't encountered the smell of coffee yet. i think that's how the jacket and 1st stains are discovered. the young guy couldn't get all the coffee out of his jacket and it still smells like java.
